The all-new Audi Q5 has been launched with 4 powerful and efficient TDI variants, with pricing starting at €48,350 for the 2.0 TDI 150 bhp SE. The new Q5 will also be available with a powerful 2.0 TDI 190 bhp S tronic quattro. Priced at €54,850 this is expected to be the most popular variant.
The Audi Q5 has been masterfully redesigned with a sporty and taut stance. A dominating sculpturally flared singleframe grille with a solid frame features on the aerodynamically flat front end. Either LED or high-resolution Matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn lights are available.
The new Q5 has grown in almost all dimensions compared to its predecessor [4.66 meters (15.3ft) long, 1.89 meters (6.2ft) wide and 1.66 meters (5.4ft) tall with a 2.82 meter (9.3ft) wheelbase]. Despite this growth, the overall weight of the vehicle has been reduced by up to 90kg due to the intelligent material mix of steel and aluminium used in the body. The driver and passengers can also enjoy the best interior acoustics in its class.
In Ireland two trim lines will be made available with a more extensive list of equipment than ever - the SE and S line. These features include xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights, the Audi MMI Navigation with 7-inch MMI colour display, bluetooth ad USB charging function, Audi drive select dynamic handling system, twin leather and front and rear parking sensors. Also available as standard across the family is the LED interior lighting pack, Audi smartphone interface, Audi Connect (3 moth free trial), automatic boot lid and full body paint finish. Also available as an option on both the SE and S line is the popular Audi virtual cockpit, a fully digital instrument cluster with various display options. The information is directly in front of the driver via a large high-resolution monitor with rich detailed graphics. Drivers also have the option of adding head-up display, which projects key information onto the windscreen such as driver assistance systems and a speedometer.
The new model's sporty look and feel is further enhanced with LED headlights, sport seats, 19" alloys, leather & alcantara upholstery along with an S line exterior and interior pack, all of which features as standard on the S line trim.
Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management at AUDI AG commented: “The first Audi Q5 was for many years the world's best-selling SUV in its class. It was no easy task to design its successor, but that is precisely why it is so very exciting. With the new Q5 we are setting the bar a notch higher. Among the great innovations are the Quattro drive system with ultra technology, highly efficient engines, the air suspension with damper control and a comprehensive line-up of infotainment and assistance systems.”
There will also be three pack options available from the launch date of the Q5. Teh Comfort & Sound pack which includes a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system and 3-zone climate control and a Technology Pack which includes Audi virtual cockpit will be available for both the SE and S line trims while an S line exclusive black pack will also be made available featuring 20" titanium look alloys, dark tinted glass and black roof rails.
