Ireland's leading premium car brand has reported a 22% increase in car registrations this year, and is forecasting an even stronger 2016 based on pre-sales.
5,210 new Audi vehicles were registered between January 1st and November 30th, a 22% increase on the previous years figures. Audi have also reported a 32% share of the Irish premium market and a 4.2% share of the overall Irish car marketing in 2015.
Sales volume performance for Audi has recovered to 2007 pre-recession levels even though they are now operating in a smaller car market today - 66% of the size of 2007.
Managing Director of Audi Ireland, Christian Gussen, said "Looking in to
2016, early indications suggest that we are placed for another
successful year. Our predictions are testament to our sophisticated
premium model portfolio paired with our dedicated dealers network.
Combined with a recovering economy and increased consumer confidence,
these factors are powering Audi's continued growth in Ireland."
As the irish car market continues to recover, Audi Ireland Managing Director Christian Gussen expects over 130,000 units to be sold in 2016, stating that Audi's own dealer order bank is up significantly for the coming year, with the Audi A6 playing a key role in this. The A6 2016 order bank shows that it will continue to be one of the main growth pillars for Audi. Mr Gussen added "We are particularly pleased with the unprecendented performance in orders for the A6. The product improvements made to the car last year, including the introduction of the s-tronic automatic transmission, are starting to reap rewards with a significant increase in the 2016 order bank."
Audi is also ready to take advantage of the growing SUV market, the recently launched Audi Q7 is set to attract new conquest customers to the brand in 2016. The new A4, which launched in mid-November, has also seen orders significantly increase year-on-year for 2016, exceeding initial expectations by Audi. The all-new Audi A4 sets a new standard in engineering and technology available in this car segment. "The all-new Audi A4 is equally impressive, combining accomplished design with excellence in engineering. The car is now lighter and more fuel efficient that its predecessor model, and features state-of -the-art technological innovations." said Mr Gussen.
